How do I log into the voicemail portal for the first time?

Logging into the voicemail portal for the first time

 

  1. Choose the Messages option on your phone or dial *86
  2. Enter the default password. You will be prompted to change that password, it will need to be more complex than 123456 so make sure to come up with something memorable. If you don’t know what the password is and the default isn’t working, please skip to the Resetting voicemail password section.
  3. Although not required, we strongly encourage our customers to have all employees record a name greeting of the current user of a given phone. More information can be found in this section of this article.

Changing voicemail greeting

 

  • Please note voicemail greetings are not required.
  • Go into the messages section on your phone and enter your password (see other parts of this article if help is needed).
  • Choose the 0 option followed by the 1 option.
  • If no greeting is recorded, the default greeting callers will hear is: “The person at extension [extension number] is unavailable.” If you have recorded a name greeting(covered in the next section) it will instead say: “[Name greeting] is unavailable.”
  • An Unavailable Message, a Busy message, or a Temporary Message may be set if desired. By default Busy Messages will not be played as a result of most phone system’s setups. For more information or to request this feature please open a ticket with our support or send an email to support@estreet.com and ask about using a busy greeting.

Changing name greeting

 

  • Please note name greetings are not required.
  • Go into the messages section on your phone and enter your password (see other parts of this article if help is needed).
  • Choose the 0 option followed by the 3 option.
  • E Street strongly recommends most customers to use the dial by name directory feature in their phone system. We find an up to date directory helps callers connect to the correct person and having the recorded name typically reassures the caller during the process.
